2008-2009 Fall Sports Registration

The St. Agnes Athletic Association offers to students of St. Agnes School and to students of the
St. Agnes Religious Education Program an opportunity to participate in our athletic programs.  The boy’s football and girl’s basketball programs are open to students entering grades 4 through 8.  Cheerleading is open to girls in grades 3 through 8.  Specific information on each program is below.

BOY’S FOOTBALL:  The St. Agnes Athletic Association supports both a Junior Varsity and Varsity football team.  Both teams participate in the Catholic Grade School Conference of Chicagoland.  Boys in grades 4 through 6 who weigh less than 125 pounds are eligible for Junior Varsity.  Boys in grades 7 and 8 who weigh up to 185 pounds participate on the varsity team.  The teams play a seven game schedule.  All games are played on Sunday afternoons.  Home football games are played at Sarff Field located at Bloom High School in Chicago Heights.  Football practice will begin on Monday, August 4.  Practice is held at the practice field on Dixie Highway at Bloom High School after 5:00 p.m.  Parents are required to work concession stand duties at home football games.  Registration fee is $75.00.

GIRL’S BASKETBALL:  We have basketball teams in grades 4 through 8.  Practices are held twice a week.  Practices will begin in mid-August.  Season runs through mid-November.  Home games will be played at the St. Agnes Parish Center.  Parents are required to work concession stand duties at home basketball games.  Registration fee is $75.00.

CHEERLEADING:   Girls in grades 3 through 8 can be a St. Agnes Cheerleader.  We have two cheerleading squads – Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleaders.  Cheerleaders will cheer for all home football games.  The cheerleading season begins in August and ends at the close of the football season.  Practice is held 2 days a week.  Parents are required to work concession stand duties for each child registered.  Registration fee is $45.00.

FUNDRAISING PROGRAM:  In addition to the registration fee, each family is required to purchase a raffle ticket book for $40.00.  This book will contain ten(10) $5.00 raffle ticket chances.  When you sell 10 tickets, you will actually earn $10.00.  Each family will only need to prepay for ONE raffle book, regardless of the number of children you have participating in our sports programs.

The raffle will take place at the Homecoming Football game (to be announced at a later date).
